To the Editor:

I am writing this letter asking you to support Bruce Yablon for Bedford Town Board. Bruce’s entire work career has been perfectly tailored to be a strong, successful leader on the Town Board. While Bruce volunteers and serves on many local boards and with local organizations similar to his opponent, there is NO comparison between their career experience and what they can bring to the board.

After graduating high school, Bruce worked as a commercial and industrial contractor for many years. This job is a direct parallel to what the core of the town’s money is spent on. He then paid his way through college, where he earned a B.S. in business administration and management, graduating summa cum laude and worked for several small and large corporations.

One such employer was PepsiCo’s Taco Bell division, where he managed an $18 million business of 12 Taco Bell restaurants and was responsible for 500 hourly and salaried employees. He was so successful in running their businesses that he was awarded General Manager of the Year for having the highest profitability, operational proficiency and customer service scores. He achieved that because of his style as very caring, involved and supportive manager who knows how to improve efficiency, increase performance and cut waste. Such skills are directly transferable with our town’s employees, management professionals and elected officials.

Bruce also worked for Metro Media Fiber Networks, where he was vice president of human resources and oversaw HR responsibilities and compliance for 2,500 employees. As vice president of human resources, he was part of the team that successfully negotiated union contracts on behalf of the employer – another directly transferable skill.

For more than 12 years, Bruce has been an entrepreneur running Bruce Yablon Construction, a home improvement company. He works with architects, engineers, building departments and homeowners every day – even more valuable skills that apply to our Town Board’s responsibilities.

Although his opponent’s small business as a publisher of a listing of “creditors' rights counsel” for credit collection agents and providing “marketing services and networking services to the creditors(sic) rights and commercial collections industrys(sic)” (From his opponent’s LinkedIn page) is a perfectly respectable business, I think having someone with education in business administration and management , a work history of successfully managing large operations (budgets similar to the town’s) with hundreds of employees (bigger than the town’s employee population) and expertise in construction services (the largest expenses in the town’s budget) and experience in union contract negotiation (we have four unions) make him the perfect person to service on the town board.

When you are looking for the right education, work history, industry experience, skills and proven ability to successfully lead and serve this town, no one possesses as powerful a mix of needed skills and experience as Bruce Yablon.  Kind regards, Daniel B. Feintuck, Bedford Corners
