Jesse Tiani, 83, Of Bedford Hills

BEDFORD, N.Y. – Jesse J. Tiani of Bedford Hills died Oct. 4, surrounded by his wife and family. He was 83. 

Tiani was the owner of Jesse's Deli in Yorktown Heights, which he operated with his wife and children for 38 years.

Born in New Canaan, Conn., he was the son of Charles and Elizabeth Tiani. He served in the Army during the Korean War and had a profound love for his country and the American flag, his family said.

Tiani was a charter member of the Yorktown Elks Club and a member of American Legion Post 136 of Mount Kisco. He served as a firefighter for the New Canaan Fire Department and Mount Kisco Hook and Ladder and was an honorary member of the Yorktown Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dina Tiani; three daughters, BettyAnn (Stephen) Bottinelli, Maria (William) Marks and Jessica (Andrew) Bambach; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Mount Kisco. Clark Funeral Home in Yorktown Heights is handling arrangements.
