BEDFORD, N.Y. -- George F. Coles, 80, of Grandview, Iowa, formerly of Bedford, died Nov. 4.

Coles, the son of the late George Burling and Helen Louise Coles, served in the U.S. Air Force, where he worked on the Mars Radio system, AEA9 in Bettendorf, fixed computers and repaired guns.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Coles of Grandview; sister-in-law, Kathy (Ken); six nieces, Melissa Murphy, Melinda Lenhard, Mariah Perez, Tamera McLaughlin, Peggy Lieder and Sally Adock, and two nephews, Mitchell Schweitzer and Melvin Wykert Jr.

Coles was preceded in death by his sisters, aunts, uncles and one nephew.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday at the Stacy- Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Columbus City Cemetery.
