Tractor-Trailer Driver Hospitalized After Crashing Into Westchester Yard

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - A truck driver was hospitalized after losing control of his tractor-trailer and landing in the front yard of a Rye home off the I-287 exit ramp from I-95 early on Friday morning.

Shortly after 6 a.m. on Friday morning, police said the driver, whose name has not been released, lost control of his rig - which was carrying gummy bears and Swedish Fish - and crashed through some trees and a fence before coming to a stop on a Grace Church Street lawn.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was hospitalized as a precaution. The nature of his injuries has not been released, though they were non-life-threatening. No injuries were reported by the homeowners.

Police are currently investigating the crash to determine the cause, which was not immediately clear. Local police, firefighters, state police and Vincent’s Service Station assisted at the scene, which was quickly cleared.
