The sale was made at A&P's bankruptcy auction, the reports say, citing anonymous sources.
Stop & Shop was originally designated as a stalking-horse bidder for the Mount Kisco store when A&P filed for bankruptcy in July. However, the store was removed from the chain's bid package and placed in a global auction, which was scheduled for Oct. 1.
Stop & Shop recently received a bankruptcy judge's approval to purchase the rest of its bidding package.
The Mount Kisco store was A&P's highest-earning location last year, the company's filing shows, generating $9.2 million in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA).
The list of winning bidders has yet to be filed for the bankruptcy court case. The Journal News, which is among those that noted the Mount Kisco store's sale, reports that the auctions were not open to the general public.
The results of the auctions will be brought to the bankruptcy judge, the report adds.
