Breaking News: Westchester Man Found Dead On Old Croton Aqueduct

State Trooper Hits Pedestrian In Mt. Kisco Again, Second Time in Two Days

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. - A New York State Trooper driving an unmarked vehicle was involved in an accident in which a pedestrian was struck in Mount Kisco for the second time in less than two days, according to Major Michael Kopy of the New York State Police.

At approximately 7:00 p.m. on Thursday night, 50-year-old Jeronimo Ardon Perez of Grove Street in Mount Kisco was crossing North Bedford Road (Route 117) when he was hit by Investigator Gregory Panzarella, a 12-year police veteran. Panzarella is an officer with duties to give protective service, but was not currently engaged in any official business, says Kopy. Paranzella was driving alone in a 2005 Grand Prix, an unmarked vehicle of the State. Perez' current status is unknown.

The accident on Thursday marked the second time in less than two days a trooper struck a pedestrian in Mount Kisco, as 22-year-old Mount Kisco resident Dolce M. Perez was hit by Sergeant Joseph Crispino on Wednesday morning.

Perez was crossing the street to the northbound side of West Main Street when she was struck by Sergeant Joseph Cristino in a state owned 2006 gray Chevy Impala, Kopy stated.

Cristino, who is a 15-year veteran, was making a left turn onto West Main Street, also known as Route 133, after going northbound on Maple Ave. According to Kopy, Perez was conscious and speaking to Westchester EMS who arrived on the scene. She was taken to Westchester Medical Center with a head injury, said Kopy.

Speaking on the strange nature of the proximity of the two accidents, Kopy noted that "there are hundreds of cars we're operating throughout the troop any time or any day, and we happened to have two accidents at he same time in the same place."
