A registered sex offender convicted of possessing child pornography has changed addresses in Westchester County.
The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert on Monday to Westchester residents regarding the residency of 24-year-old Alex Funk, who has moved from Bedford to a residence on North Lane in Somers. The residence has a Katonah mailing address.
The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Funk as a Level 2 threat, which means he is at "moderate risk of a repeat offense."
According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Funk was arrested in 2013 following an investigation by the Westchester County District Attorney's Office and was found guilty of promoting or possessing a sexual performance by a child. He was sentenced to 10 years probation and was fined $1425 the following year. He is now under the jurisdiction of the Westchester County Department of Public Safety.
