Putnam Hospital Center's Rehab Facility In Bedford Hills Extends Hours

CARMEL, N.Y. – Putnam Hospital Center’s physical rehabilitation facility in Bedford Hills has extended its hours to better serve the community.

The facility, at 160 Harris Road, is now open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The 3,750-square-foot center opened in 2013 and offers physical, occupational and hand therapies. There are three therapists on staff: Tricia Jenkins, Jeanne Morgante and Irwin Mercader, who recently joined the team. Jenkins, a University of New Hampshire graduate, has more than 25 years of experience as a therapist and joined Putnam Hospital Center in 2007. She was certified in hand therapy in 1994 and provides treatment for all hand and upper extremity diagnoses, particularly complex injuries and trauma. Jenkins has participated in medical missions to Ecuador and Guatemala and will travel in the spring with the Guatemala Healing Hands Foundation to treat children with hand and upper extremity injuries. Morgante joined Putnam Hospital Center in 2011. She holds a doctorate in physical therapy from the University of St. Augustine in Florida as well as her bachelor’s in physical therapy from New York University. Morgante has more than 30 years of physical therapy experience in both clinical, quality assurance and management. Mercader has been a physical therapist for nine years and specializes in back and neck pain. He earned his degree in the Philippines in 1998 and is presently certified by the McKenzie Institute International in mechanical diagnosis and therapy. Mercader worked at St. Joseph’s Medical Center before joining the Putnam Hospital Center staff. For more information on the hospital’s Bedford Hills facility, call 914-242-1823.
