BEDFORD, N.Y. There are 93 power outages in the town of Bedford as of 4 p.m., and 91 of them are in Katonah, according to New York State Electric & Gas (NYSEG).
Bedford Police said that around 1 p.m. a tree on Route 35 fell and brought down some live wires, knocking out service for the traffic light at the intersection of Route 35 and Route 22.
According to Bedford Police Sgt. Matthew Hawley, all of the power outages reported by NYSEG, which numbered 339 as of 2 p.m., are in the area of the fallen tree, which is in Katonah. The Katonah Fire Department reported to the scene along with NYSEG and police.
The utility company told Bedford police they will need another half an hour to clean up the area and restore power, according to Hawley.
