Man Charged In Route 35 Crash Was Impaired, Police Say

LEWISBORO, N.Y. -- New York State Police have accused a 28-year-old New Rochelle man of being impaired by drugs or alcohol when the car he was driving in South Salem was involved Friday in a head-on collision with a van carrying residents from a group home, according to LoHud.com

Jose Izazaga, was the driver of the vehicle that struck the van on Route 35 between Mark Mead Road and Debbie Lane at approximately 8 a.m. The accident kept Route 35 closed for nearly two hours, LoHud.com reported. 

Four people from the van were taken to hospitals after responders removed them from the overturned van, according to LoHud.com

Izazaga is scheduled to appear in Lewisboro Town Court Lewisboro Town Court on Monday, Dec. 2, LoHud.com said.
