Signage announcing the closure and study has been posted at the gap, which is used for making U-turns onto Katonah Avenue from a parking lot that is between the train station and Peppino's.
The study's purpose, according to the posting, is to evaluate the closure's impact on safety. It is also being done to assess whether or not more parking spaces can be added into the area.
The median is scheduled to be reopened on Sept. 30.
