He graduated from the Vermont Police Academy on Friday, Nov. 21, after 16 weeks of training in Pittsford, Vt. He was one of 26 police officers who graduated, and one of four hired by Burlington.
Rienzi graduated from the University of Vermont in May 2014, with a degree in business administration.
He has been a volunteer with the Pound Ridge Fire Department since 2008, and is also a mutual aide responder with the Vista Fire Department. He worked for the town's maintenance department for the last four summers until being hired as a police officer.
Rienzi has lived in Pound Ridge since 2001 with his stepfather and mother, Brad and Aurora Holley.
After two weeks of Post Basic Training, Rienzi will ride with an field training officer for 3 months to complete his training.
