Do You Know The Famous Fox Lane Alumni?

BEDFORD—When  “The Partridge Family” first aired in 1970, it starred a lot of unknown young actors, including a student from Fox Lane High School. Her name might not have been known before the show ran, but it sure is now—Susan Dey.

Dey was born in Pekin, Illinois on December 10, 1952. She was born Susan Hallock Smith, but eventually took her mother’s maiden name, Dey, as her professional name.

Dey graduated from Fox Lane High School in 1970. In the same year she was chosen to play the part of Laurie Partridge, despite having no previous acting experience.  The show ran until 1974.

After “The Partridge Family” ended, the famous alum continued her acting career, appearing in a number of television movies and shows.

In 1986, Dey began another long stretch on a hit television show when she played Grace Van Owen on "L.A. Law."  During her time on the show (1986-1992), Dey earned numerous award nominations for her work and won a Golden Globe Award for the role in 1987.

Dey has not been in any movies or television shows since 2004, but her legacy as a great Fox Lane alum is still strong today.
