BEDFORD, N.Y. - The funeral for Bedford resident Mary Richardson Kennedy has been set for 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Church, the same day the church is scheduled to host the final day of its annual spring carnival.
Debbie Nemnom, administrative assistant to the parish, does not believe traffic from the events will conflict with one another. With the carnival's rides not opening up unti 1 p.m., Nemnom believes traffic will be cleared by then.
"We're hoping that we'll be fine," Nemnom said. "We should be in pretty good shape."
A wake will be held at the family’s home Friday evening, publicists for Robert Kennedy said Friday.
Kennedy, 52, was found dead Wednesday afternoon at her home at 326 S. Bedford Road. She hanged herself in an outbuilding on the property, according to the Westchester County Medical Examiner's Office.
Kennedy is the estranged wife of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., the son of U.S. Sen. Robert F. Kennedy and nephew of President John F. Kennedy, both assassinated in the 1960s. Mary Richardson Kennedy was his second wife. The couple had been married for 16 years before splitting in 2010.
