Skanes, who served as the Club’s leader for 21 years, left the organization this spring to continue making an impact with Boys & Girls Clubs of America as Director of Major Metro Services. Under Skanes’ direction, the BGCNW was established as one of the most respected youth service organizations in Westchester County, enriching thousands of children’s lives over the course of his two-decade long tenure.

“The Humanitarian Dinner is a celebration of Brian’s tremendous leadership and impressive career,” said Alyzza Ozer, CEO.  “It is also an opportunity to recognize the outstanding achievements of Club youth who are exemplary members of the community and a true reflection of the Club’s impact.”

The John Beach Award, also presented during the gala to an exceptional Club supporter, will be awarded to TD Bank for its generous funding of the Club’s youth programming and services.

Additionally, the 2015 “Youth of the Year” will be awarded to teen club member Nethmi DeSilva, who has demonstrated leadership, commitment and dedication to school, home, family and community. The memorial Chris Cutri Award will be given to member Cameron Rosen.

The gala will feature live and silent fundraising auctions, a cocktail reception, plated dinner, special tribute journal, live band and more. The event is open to all, and former Club members, parents and volunteers are especially encouraged to attend. Individual tickets begin at $350; sponsorship opportunities range up to $50,000.
