A 41-year-old Bedford Hills woman is scheduled to appear in Bedford town court next month after she allegedly tried to pass three counterfeit $10 bills to a gas station attendant in April.
Bedford town police arrested Christine Bueti, 41, and charged her with first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, a felony, and petty larceny, a misdemeanor.
On April 4, police received a report from the Sunoco gas station located on Bedford Road in Katonah that a woman paid with fake money before leaving the store.
Police arrested Bueti July 22 after they determined that she was the woman who used the counterfeit money.
Bueti was arraigned and released without bail. She is scheduled to appear in Bedford town court on Aug. 25.
Police referred the case to the U.S. Secret Service for further investigation.
