Bedford Trainer Falls From Horse at Coker Farm

BEDFORD, N.Y.—A horse trainer at Coker Farm in Bedford was taken to the hospital Wednesday after the horse she was riding reared back and threw her.

Bedford Police, the Bedford Village Fire Department and ALS medics responded to the accident call, which came in at 2:01 p.m. Trainer Kip Rosenthal fell onto her head and shoulders, said farm manager Gerrilyn Campbell.

Police said the trainer, 60, was treated at the scene for possible neck injuries.

“They don’t seem to think it’s that bad,” said Campbell.

She said Rosenthal, who works at Benchmark Farm on the Coker property, had been there for three years but worked as a trainer for many years before that.

Rosenthal was transported to Northern Westchester Hospital in an ambulance. Coker Farm owner Judy Richter followed.
