The next meeting is set for Jan. 20 and will include a work session at 7 p.m. and a regular session at 8:15 p.m. The former will pertain to to a government-efficiency program and the proposals from the town's Traffic Safety Working Group.

The Town Board is then scheduled to meet on Feb. 3 for a work session regarding the town's master plan -- it's officially known as the Comprehensive Plan -- and chain stores. In the case of the latter, according to Supervisor Chris Burdick, it will be a discussion over whether to change the zoning code.

Regarding chain stores, Burdick was seeking “to just get the conversation going on that.”

The Feb. 3 work session is set for 7:45 p.m., while the regular session is set for 8:15 p.m.

Finally, the Town Board is slated to meet on Feb. 24. A Feb. 17 meeting was originally planned but the board pushed back the date. The original date would have been the same week as Presidents Day when local schools are on break.

The Feb. 24 meeting includes a work session that will cover the special-permit authority for both the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals. The work session, which starts at 7 p.m., will be followed by a regular session an hour later.
