Bedford To Offer Free Programs On Medicare Basics

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.-- The Westchester County Department of Senior Programs and Services will have introductory workshops on Medicare basics Sept. 19, Oct. 10, Nov. 7 and Dec. 12 at the County Office Building on South First Avenue in Mount Vernon.

Case workers will provide information about Medicare Parts A, B, C, and D and explain how to use Elderly Pharmaceutical Insurance Coverage for even greater savings. The workshops also will include a discussion of Medigap insurance, cost-sharing and preventive benefits. In addition, participants can ask questions about enrollment in Part D., which takes place this year from Oct. 15 through Dec. 7 for prescription drug plans that take effect Jan. 1.
