Bedford School Official Named Peekskill Principal

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- The Peekskill City School District appointed three new principals at a meeting on Tuesday, May 6, for Woodside/Uriah Hill Elementary School, Peekskill Middle School and Peekskill High School. 

Rolando Briceño, Jamal Lewis, and Cassandra Hyacinthe were recently appointed as new principals in the Peekskill City School District.

Rolando Briceño, Jamal Lewis, and Dr. Cassandra Hyacinthe will all take over their new roles effective July 1. 

Briceño has been appointed as the new Uriah Hill/Woodside principal after serving as a house director in the Bedford School District. He also spent seven years as an assistant principal in the New Rochelle Public Schools.

Briceño holds a bachelor's degree in government and politics from Adelphi University, and later earned his master’s degree in school leadership and Technology from St. John’s University.

Lewis comes to Peekskill Middle School from the Newburgh City School District where he served as an elementary school assistant principal.

Lewis earned his bachelor's degree in education from Baruch College and later earned two master’s degrees, one in education from Lehman College and the other in school supervision from Mercy College.

Hyacinthe, who will take over at Peekskill High School, has served as an assistant principal in Mount Vernon High School since 2005. She holds a bachelor's degree in French from the University of Pennsylvania. She later earned a master's degree in education from Sarah Lawrence College. Hyacinthe also earned her doctorate in education in executive leadership from St. John Fisher College.
