KATONAH, N.Y. After more than a week, the Bedford Police Department has no suspects in the burglary of a Katonah home that occurred over the weekend of Dec. 10, according to Bedford Lt. Jeffrey Dickan.
Theres nothing to report at this point, we are investigating it, said Dickan. He also noted that the investigation is one of the biggest the department has on its docket.
Bedford Police said on Saturday, Dec. 10, they were notified of a burglary at 51 East Lake Drive in Katonah after a 42-year-old female told officers she was confronted by two burglars, one armed with a black handgun.
The two burglars, both described as black males by police, tied down and locked the woman in a first floor bathroom for an undisclosed amount of time before she was able to escape and call police.
Neighbor John Fry, who has lived down the road on East Lake Drive for several decades, said he cannot remember something of this magnitude occurring in the neighborhood.
Were a little more careful when locking a door now, he said. But it never happened on this road in my 30 years here. I dont recall a single burglary taking place before this one.
The amount and value of the stolen items have yet to be disclosed. Bedford Police are asking anyone with information regarding the burglary to notify the detective division at 914-241-3111.
