Library staffer Margaret Scott, who lives nearby in Bedford Hills, called it a "lovely little theater." Scott also said she was sad it is leaving.
Additionally, Scott brought up a survey for the future of the space from John Farr. He is seeking public input on whether to add a "not-for-profit arts house" to the theater space, which would be similar to Pleasantville's Jacob Burns Film Center. Scott also expressed interest in Farr's concept.
A link to the survey has been posted on the library's website.
Reacting to the news, staffer Ann Haney described herself as being "saddened." A former Bedford resident -- she now resides in Bridgeport, Conn. -- Haney recalled the location's convenience and availability of new releases.
