Ardis James, 85, Quilters Hall of Fame Honoree

MT KISCO-- Ardis Butler James, of Stamford, CT, previously of Chappaqua, an active member of the Mt. Kisco Presbyterian Church died on July 7, 2011. She was 85 years old. James and her husband were selected as the 2011 Honorees for the Quilters Hall of Fame for philanthropic work.

Ardis was survived by her husband, Robert G. James of Stamford CT, her daughter Catherine (Louis) Paglia of Greenwich CT, her son Ralph (Janice) James of Swampscott, MA, and her grandchildren Gregory James, Katherine James, Rebecca James, Samuel Paglia and Helen Paglia. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert G. James Jr.

On August 24, 2011, there will be a memorial service held at 10 a.m. at the Mt Kisco Presbyterian Church . In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to Quilt House, International Quilt Study Center, which founded in 1997 after James and her husband donated their collection of around 1,000 quilts to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
