COLD SPRING, N.Y. -- The amber alert issued by the Putnam County Sheriff's Department  just before 11 a.m. Tuesday was rescinded after the child was found unharmed.

COLD SPRING, N.Y. -- The Putnam County Sheriff's Department has issued an amber alert for a child who was abducted in Philipstown near Cold Spring on Tuesday.

Sophia Salazar is a Hispanic female, approximately 9 years old with long, brown hair and brown eyes. She is approximately 4 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs about 70 pounds. Sophia was last seen wearing sleepwear of some kind.

Authorities believe Sophia Salazar was taken by her mother, Luisa Salazar, who is a Hispanic female, approximately 37 years old with long, brown hair and brown eyes. She is approximately 5-feet 1-inch tall and weighs about 160 pounds. The suspect was last seen wearing Gray sweatpants.

Luisa Salazar is bipolar off medication, and experiencing delusional episodes. authorities believe the child may be in imminent danger. 

Luisa Salazar is believed to be driving a  blue metallic four-door 2007 Honda Civic with New York license plate number DMN-8229 with has old-style white New York license plates.

Anyone with any information on this abduction is asked to call the Putnam County Sheriffs Department at (866)N Y S-AMBER or dial 911 to provide information on a report or sighting.
