Accident Blocks I-684 Lane, Gravel Spill Stops Traffic On Route 9A

Motorists on several area roadways were stuck in traffic after the morning rush Thursday as a result of accidents and a gravel spill.

An accident on I-684 near the Westchester/Putnam border initially blocked the right lane on the southbound side.

The crash, reported just before 9 a.m., was at Route 138 (Goldens Bridge Road) with traffic backed up to Route 116 (Exit 7).

A gravel spill blocked the right lane on southbound Route 9A at North State Road in Briarcliff, leading to stopped traffic at the scene of the incident and backups to the Croton Dam Road. The incident was reported at 8:45 a.m.

A separate incident on 9A was reported shortly after the gravel spill: a multi-vehicle accident in Briarcliff Manor near the Taconic interchange.

A multi-vehicle accident is causing delays on a stretch of southbound I-95 in New Rochelle.

The accident, reported just before 9 a.m., is at Exit 15.
