“I have a million things to do today and I need a shoe that can work in all those circumstances," said Mac in an interview with Stacy Knows.
Mac grew up in Yorktown Heights and studied fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. After designing for several labels, including Ralph Lauren and Talbots, for two and a half decades, Mac set out to design a shoe that could be customized for use in multiple scenarios.
A base pump, boot, sandal or slipper can become multiple styles by swapping out the heel covers, or Sole Sisters, and toe embellishments called Clipsters.
