What's Happening in Bedford This Weekend

BEDFORD, N.Y. – Here are some events going on in Bedford this weekend.

Friday, April 13

• Toddler Time, 10:30 a.m.Children ages two-and-a-half through three-and-a-half are welcome to come to the Katonah Village Library, located at 26 Bedford Road, with their caregiver to enjoy songs, stories and a craft. Call the Children's Room at 914-232-1233 to register.

• Shabbat Service with Caryl M. Stern, 8 p.m.

Temple Shaaray Tefila at 89 Baldwin Road in Bedford Corners will welcome UNICEF President and CEO Caryl M. Stern as the guest speaker at its Shabbat Service. There will be a brief service followed by Stern's talk, "Fighting for the Health, Survival and Freedom of Every Child.”

 Saturday, April 14

• Run for the Hills 5K, 8:30 a.m.

Runners can meet at the Bedford Hills Train Station at 46 Depot Plaza for the third annual 5K race. Registration forms are available at the Bedford Parks and Recreation office or on race day at 8 a.m. for $25. Preregister at Active.com for $20. Make sure to bring a canned food item.

• Bedford Spring Antiques Show, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Antiques dealers from across the East Coast will present a selection of 18th-, 19th- and 20th-century furniture and decorative accessories in a show at the Rippowam Cisqua School’s Rippowam campus, 439 Cantitoe St. Admission is $10.

• Marti Martial Arts Personal Safety Seminar, 3 p.m.

Marti Martial Arts Academy, at 118 Route 117 By Pass Road in Bedford Hills, will present a first aid and personal safety seminar. Topics will include safety in social networking, what to do in cases of unintentional poisonings and accidents, and the importance of CPR and first aid.

 Sunday, April 15

• Bedford Spring Antiques Show, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Bedford antiques show, held at the Rippowam Cisqua School’s Rippowam campus, continues.

• An Introduction to Social Media, 11:30 a.m.

The Bedford Presbyterian Church is hosting a social media seminar. The talk will focus on ways the church, located at the Village Green, is using social media to share information. Facebook and Twitter safety and usage tips will also be discussed. A second session will be held April 22.
