On Sunday, the Pound Ridge Police Benevolent Association donated half of the 2012 event’s total proceeds to Northern Westchester Hospital.

Hospital president and CEO Joel Seligman accepted an oversize check for $9,250 at Sunday's special presentation, which will go to support the hospital’s preventative health care programs, he said.

The other half of the proceeds from the Sept. 15 show, which is held every year at the Pound Ridge Town Park to benefit the Pound Ridge PBA’s community programs, went to the Pound Ridge Lions Club, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2012.

Pound Ridge PBA President and department Sgt. Mike Armistead said the 10th annual car show had 300 cars on display, breaking the previous record of 270 entrants set in 2010.

The show started with just 35 cars and expanded to more than 40 classes awarding more than 150 trophies at the 2011 show.

During the last nine years, proceeds from the show,  through admission and registration costs, trophy sponsors, vendor fees, raffle ticket and concession sales, have raised more than $80,000 for local charities and organizations.

Past recipients of the proceeds include the Blythedale Childrens Hospital, the American Cancer Society, the American Legion Veterans, the Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps and the Pound Ridge Library Foundation.
