A proclamation, which was read in Palmesi's honor, notes his achievements in scouting. Palmesi's work, the resolution states, includes working on the creation of an outdoor educational space for the Bedford Audubon Society - the space is at Bylane Farm by Todd Road - adding 45 tagged native plants, and helping with the creation of an outdoor classroom for kids.
The classroom, the resolution states, includes 24 benches for children, an outdoor movie screen, a presentation platform and two exploration tables.
Palmesi is a South Salem resident and a junior at John Jay High School. He was joined at the board meeting by his parents, Tony and Lisa.
