John Boys Farm Brings Meat to the Table

A downpour of rain didn’t deter patrons from stopping by the John Boys Farm stand at the Muscoot Farm Farmers Market in Somers Sunday.

“We have such a huge following that it doesn’t matter if it’s raining,” Sandra Lena she prepared advanced orders that were taken from customers over the telephone. “They will come.”

John Boys Farm, which is based in Cambridge, Washington County, provides a wide array of meats ranging from pullet and duck eggs to sausage and steaks.

The farm is owned by John Ubaldo and the animals are hormone-free, according to Lena.

“We’re not certified organic, but everything is free-range and no genetically modified feed is used,” Lena said.

Alicia Sandberg, a immigration attorney based in Mount Kisco, said she is big fan of the farm.

“”It’s the only place I go to to buy my meat, chicken, pork and eggs” Sandberg said. “I think that it’s healthy and I want to support the local farms.”

In addition to the Muscoot Farmer’s Market, John Boys Farm also operates a farm stand at the Pound Ridge Farmers Market on Sundays. He also delivers his meats to the a number of local restaurants including the North Star Restaurant in Pound Ridge, the Farmhouse at Bedford Post and Crabtree’s Kittlehouse in Chappaqua.
