A funeral was held for Marie Williams Monday after she died on Aug. 3 at her daughters home in Hobe Sound, Fla at the age of 96.
Williams was born in North Tonawanda, NY in 1915. She receieved a bachelors degree in physical education from the State University of New York in Cortland and then moved to Katonah, where she taught physical education for several years before marrying her late husband, Kim Williams.
After getting married, she devoted her life to raising her family and participating with the United Methodist Church in Katonah. She later moved to Pleasantville, where she lived with family before moving to Hobe Sound.
She is survived by her 6 children; Kim Williams and his wife, Julie, of Brookline, NH; Bonnie O'Shea of Pleasantville, NY; Wendy Williams of Hobe Sound, Fla.; Tom Williams and his wife, Susan ,of West Arlington, VT; Ray Williams and his wife, Pat, of Bomoseen, VT; and Robin Fleming and her husband, Greg, of Pleasantville.
She is also survived 21 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral service was held at the Pleasantville United Methodist Church.
