BEDFORD, N.Y. – The Art Show: Bedford celebrated it’s 40th anniversary Saturday with the help of 44 local artists. Their work was on display in Fellowship Hall at St. Matthew’s Church.

Art Show: Bedford is a major fundraising avenue of The Women of St. Matthew’s. All profits from the show are donated to local charities they support.

“We’ve had a constant flow of visitors and customers,” said Pound Ridge resident Laurie Sturz, who co-chaired the show with Laura Blau. “Allocating the show’s profits to charities at the end of the day is always extremely gratifying.”

Blau and Sturz have been running the show for the past five years.

“It’s always great to see the community come in and have an appreciation for local artists,” said Blau, who is a resident of Bedford. “There’s nothing better than local artists supporting local charities.”

Lionheart Gallery in Pound Ridge Gallery Director Susan Grissom, who curated the art show, was also pleased with the turnout.

“I love all the people involved with this show,” she said. “It’s wonderful to see what’s out there in terms of the area’s art and the church is a tremendous venue for an art show.”
