TARRYTOWN, N.Y. --  There's a popular catch-phrase: “Know your farmers, know your food." And there's nowhere better to get up close and personal with your local purveyors than with a farmers market.

The DVlicious contest ends 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14 with the winner announced at the end of the month. Below is the "dirt" on one of the finalists.

Tarrytown And Sleepy Hollow Farmers Market (TaSH), Patriots Park, Rte. 9, Tarrytown

Hours of Operation: Saturdays, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Goes Until: Saturday before Thanksgiving (November 21).

Vendors You’ll Find: Between 20 to 25 vendors (some weekly, some rotating). Sample businesses include Blooming Hill Farm, Purdy's Farmer and the Fish, Running Creek Farm, Mobius Fields, Mead Orchards, Gaia's Breath Farm, Pura Vida Fisheries, Pickle Licious, Samosa Shack, Chaseholm Farm Creamery, Bongo & Cappacci, All You Knead, Artisan Oven, Hudson River Apiaries, Coffee Labs, Meredith's Country Bakery, Warwick Valley Winery & Distillery, True Food, Peaceful Provisions and Penny Lick Ice Cream.

Of Special Note: The TaSH Farmers Market was launched this May by a group of passionate local volunteers aiming to create a larger, more diverse market and a "village green" for the entire community. In addition to food and artisans, you'll also find live music, yoga, and kid's activities.
