We asked Daily Voice readers for their favorite sports bars in our ongoing DVlicious contest. Five are now in the running, each of which will be highlighted this week.
Go here to vote -- and root for the winner. You have until Sept. 25
In the meantime, check out one of the top picks below.
Oliver's, 128 Bedford Rd., Katonah, (914) 232-0946
What Makes It Sporty: A game is always on; often with beer specials on game nights, though Owner Doug Crossett said Oliver's is not like a traditional sports bar where everyone is yelling at the TV.
Instead, it's a family friendly place that's representative of Katonah with 21-year-old fantasy league guys next to 70-year-old lawyers, making it very representative of Katonah. "We’re like the l9th hole at a nice County Club," he said.
Number of TVs: 12 state-of-the-art plasma TVs.
Extra Innings: The family-run operation (the Crossets also own Michael's and McCarthy's in Pleasantville, and plan to open Yorktown Grille in the former Finnegan's space in Yorktown in October) is very much about offering gourmet options like steak and salmon as opposed to wings and burgers, though you can get those too.
