WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. – Three new Westchester County gourmet shops have been noted in The New York Times for their tasty takeout options available for locals just in time for the holiday season.
G.E. Brown, at 652 Old Post Road in Bedford, offers pumpkin and kale lasagna made with fresh pasta, pecorino, mozzarella, sage béchamel and thyme-scented ricotta on their “Meatless Mondays,” and is paired nicely with salad of kale, quinoa, tomato jam, candy-cane beets, shredded brussels sprouts, walnuts and pomegranate seeds, according to the New York Times.
Stillmeadow Gourmet, at 65 Pondfield Road in Bronxville, can feed the family with a whole rotisserie chicken and side of coleslaw, according to the review. The Times suggests the Vermonter sandwich – rotisserie turkey breast, sharp cheddar, bacon and apple slices – to eat on the spot.
Market North, at 387 Main St. in Armonk, was noted for its pumpkin tea cake scattered with pumpkin seeds, an assortment of grab-and-go sandwiches and a gift to go made of their own granola, according to the review.
