The unparalleled and award-winning restaurateurs of the cb5 group have done it again. Theyve just unveiled their latest hot spot, China White, at 578 Anderson Hill Rd. in Purchase. The illicitly referenced moniker is on par for cb5, simply because the team, headed by the gastro-business genius, Jody Pennette, are notorious for pushing the envelope.
Renowned for their experienced-based restaurants, the cb5 team has opened several spots in recent memory, including Lolita Cocina and Red Lulu, both in Fairfield County, Conn., where diners are treated to expertly adapted gourmet Mexican fare, thumping beats, steaming bowls of tequila-laced granita, temporary tattoos and gratis cotton candy.
Yeah, thats just how cb5 rolls. Not surprisingly, China White is big on flair, too.
The space is sleek and sexy, and feels like the kind of spot Crockett and Tubbs might shoot their way through to corral the head of a Miami cartel. It's got one foot in the 80s and the other planted firmly in the foodie culture of the 21st century. In a word, its hot.
The menu is packed with Chinese standards, amped up to meet cb5s high-as-a-kite standards. Rather than MSG-laced, it-tastes-like-chicken surprises, youll find meals made from organic, free-range ingredients.
Like most cb5 meals, China White is so good, it should probably be illegal. Make your reservation now, because this place will be jumping for a while.
