What’s January without celebrated football match ups and the comfort foods that go with them?
In honor of Sunday’s New York Giants/Green Bay Packers playoff game, Stew Leonard’s will host a Cheddar Bowl, Saturday, Jan. 14. The deli departments in Stew’s stores in Norwalk, Conn., Danbury, Conn. and Yonkers, NY will pit New York cheddar cheeses against Wisconsin cheddars.
Customers can sample cheeses from both states, comparing the sharper, dryer New York cheddar to the milder, creamy Midwestern alternative. They will then be invited to vote for their favorite cheddar in a highly unscientific democratic process. Votes will be tallied over the course of two days. Results will be announced on the store’s Facebook page on Sunday, Jan. 15 by game time at 4:30 p.m.
