BEDFORD, N.Y. – A kite festival, yoga for kids and a renaissance fair are among the events happening around Bedford this weekend.
Friday, July 20
Brooklyn Rider: 8 p.m.
This genre-defying string quartet makes its Caramoor debut Friday. Brooklyn Rider has been garnering popular and critical acclaim across the musical spectrum, from classical to world music to rock. Admission is $15. Spanish Courtyard, Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts, 149 Girdle Ridge Road, Katonah.
Saturday, July 21
Kite Festival: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Participants are invited to join the celebration by bringing a kite from home or making a guaranteed-to-fly kite in the KMA Learning Center. From the museum, head down the road to the Harvey School playing fields to watch stunt kite performances and learn tricks of the trade from professional kite flyers. Katonah Museum of Art and Harvey School, 134 Jay St., Katonah.
"I Capuleti e i Montecchi" by Vincenzo Bellini: 8 p.m.
Bellini's "I Capuleti ed i Montecchi" tells the story of Romeo and Juliet based on the same ancient Italian sources that Shakespeare used. This performance will be semi-staged and sung in Italian with English supertitles. Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts, 149 Girdle Ridge Road, Katonah.
Art and Yoga for Kids: 10 a.m.
Fee is $25. Golden Temple Yoga Studio, 223 Katonah Ave., Katonah.

Parent Day at Little Joe's Books: 10 a.m. Any parent accompanied by a child will receive 10 percent off any hot or cold espresso drink. Little Joe's Books, 25 Katonah Ave., Katonah.
A Day in the Renaissance: 12:30 p.m. A Day in the Renaissance will take your family to Italy and England in the 16th century with songs and dances, street theater, music, falcons, masks and banners and a few words from Will Shakespeare.
