BEDFORD, N.Y. – A night of Chinese film, a yoga class for kids and a jazz festival are among the events happening around Bedford this weekend.
Friday, July 27
Movies and Mai Tais: 8 p.m. The Katonah Museum of Art has set Friday as the tentative rain date for Movies and Mai Tais event, rescheduled from Thursday. Doors open at 8 p.m. and movie Mao's Last Dancer starts at 9 p.m. Katonah Museum of Art, 134 Jay St., Katonah.
Saturday, July 28
Caramoor Jazz Festival Day 1: 3 p.m. Legendary jazz drummer and band leader Roy Haynes, who has played with a slew of jazz greats, will perform with his Fountain of Youth Band. The evening will open with three-time Grammy winning jazz singer Dee Dee Bridgewater, followed by pianist Kenny Barron and jazz singer Gretchen Parlato. General admission is $15. Art and Yoga for Kids: 10 a.m. Golden Temple Yoga Studio, 223 Katonah Ave., Katonah.
Sunday, July 29
Caramoor Jazz Festival Day 2: 4 p.m. Influential guitarist Pat Metheny will perform with an all-star group: bassist Ben Williams, Grammy-nominated saxophonist Chris Potter and long-time collaborator and drummer Antonio Sanchez. General admission is $15. Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts, 149 Girdle Ridge Road, Katonah.
