BEDFORD, N.Y. — A roaring '20s party for the third season premiere of “Downton Abbey,” a cabaret night at John Jay High School and an opportunity to observe birds in winter are among the events happening in the Bedford/Mount Kisco area this weekend.

Friday, Jan. 4 Register Now for Parent-Child Group: 9 a.m. If you're looking for something fun to do with your baby, toddler or pre-schooler and also want to meet other moms like you, come to the Northern Westchester Parent-Child Group. All play groups are facilitated by highly trained teachers and child development experts. Groups are available for children ranging in age from 3 months through 4 years. Join Westchester Oratorio Society for a "Downton Abbey" Roaring Twenties Soiree: 5-8 p.m. Support the programs of the Westchester Oratorio Society by ushering  in the third season of the PBS hit series "Downton Abbey" this Saturday at Muscoot Farm. The event, entitled "From the Earl of Grantham to the Duke of Ellington," is a cocktail party in the farm’s historic main house featuring cocktail fare and desserts from “The Unofficial Downton Abbey Cookbook,” along with music, dancing, a silent auction, a house tour and more. John Jay High School Encore Cabaret: 8 p.m. ArtsALIVE! is hosting a cabaret in the school's theater that will feature both current students and a handful of alumni, who will be reprising songs from past John Jay Musicals. Sunday, Jan. 6 Birding Basics: Winter Birds: 10 a.m. Observe birds visiting the bird feeding station and learn to ID the sanctuary's most common visitors by sight, sound and feeding preference.
