Monday, Dec. 31

Bedford Central Schools Holiday Recess: Schools are closed Monday and Tuesday and will reopen Wednesday.

New Year's Eve Gala: 8 p.m. Come shake your booty at a New Years Eve dance party with DJ Harry Trinidad spinning disco, Top 40, salsa, cha cha, rumba and merengue music. The $35 cost of admission includes a hot buffet Italian dinner, coffee and dessert. Watch the ball drop in Times Square on a large-screen TV with hats, noisemakers and holiday punch. Reservations are required. Westchester Ballroom, 136 Radio Circle Drive, Mount Kisco

Bedford Post Inn New Year's Eve Dinner: 5:30 p.m., 8:30 p.m. Visitors can ring in the New Year Bedford Post-style with a celebratory four-course prix fixe menu for families, couples and friends, The meal has two seatings, one from 5:30 to 7:45 p.m. ($95 for adults, $50 for children) and a second from 8:30 to 10 p.m. ($145). New Year's Eve Watch Night Service: 8 p.m.The community is invited to attend the church's annual New Year's Eve Watch Night Service, a time to reflect on blessings received during the year and remember loved ones. Come hear the message of love and hope presented by Pastor Paul S. Briggs. Antioch Baptist Church, 3 Church St., Bedford Hills. 

Libraries: The Mount Kisco Public Library will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Katonah Village Library closes at 1 p.m.

Tuesday, Jan. 1

Katonah ViIlage Library Book Group: 8 p.m. The KVL Book Group is the longest-running literary discussion group in northern Westchester County. The group, led by Assistant Director Virginia Fetscher, meets at 8 p.m. every third Wednesday. Copies of the selected books and calendars are available on the main floor. This meeting's book is "The Hundred Secret Senses" by Amy Tan. Katonah Village Library, 26 Bedford Road, Katonah.

Thursday, Jan. 3
