"My Furry Valentine" Adoption Event (Rescheduled from 2/9 and 2/10): 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For two days this weekend, adoptable dogs, cats and rabbits from Pets Alive Westchester temporarily will take over the former Purple Passage storefront at 41 S. Moger Ave. behind Churchills clothing store, Mount Kisco.
Great Backyard Bird Count: 10 a.m. Celebrate winter birds with the Westmoreland staff by observing and counting birds visiting the feeders at the nature center. Warm drinks will be provided. All ages are welcome. No RSVP is required. Westmoreland Sanctuary, 260 Chestnut Ridge Road, Mount Kisco.
Book Signing at the Bedford Hills Historical Museum: 12:30 p.m. Author Missy Wolfe will speak about her new book "Insubordinate Spirit: A True Story of Life and Loss in Earliest America 1610-1665." Join local historians Tony Godino and John Stockbridge and others at the museum for this special reading event, which will feature a Q&A, book signing and refreshments. Learn to Ice Dance Classes: 10:30 a.m. The Hickory Hill Figure Skating Club is offering a weekly learn-to-ice-dance class for adults and children. The cost for the six-week session is $120 and includes a half-hour group lesson followed by a half-hour of practice time. Bring your own ice skates. Bluebird House Construction: 1 p.m. Create your own wooden bluebird house to provide a nesting location for your backyard birds. All materials to construct bird houses are provided.
