Westchester Land Trust Seeking Volunteers

BEDFORD, N.Y. -- The Westchester Land Trust is seeking volunteers to assist in the planting and harvesting of crops to support the Food Bank of Westchester.

Volunteers assist the trust's resident farmer Doug DiCandia every two weeks from April through October. In 2014, volunteers helped the the trust's Sugar Hill Farm yield 4,840 servings of food, according to a press release.

The trust collaborates with the Food Bank for Westchester to ensure the productivity of and access to the local food shed and protects and cares for more than 7,500 acres in Westchester and eastern Putnam counties, according to a press release.
