The festival is set to take place at Pound Ridge Town Park and run from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.; an Oct. 18 rain date has been set aside. The event is arranged by the Pound Ridge Partnership, a local civic group.

Pound Ridge Town Board members gave approvals in connection with the event earlier this year, including for shuttling people to the park.

An array of dishes will be available, including bratwurst - the connection is with Oktoberfest, apple cider, fire-grilled corn and country barbecue, the latter of which is being sponsored by the Pound Ridge Police Benevolent Association and Scotts Corners Market.

Several Pound Ridge eateries are listed among the event supporters, including North Star, Albano's, Kitchen Table, Asia Hamachi and Plum Plums.

A beer garden, featuring varieties of Magic Hat beer, is also planned for attendees who are 21 and older.

Musical entertainment scheduled includes Grammy-winning alternative rock band Soul Asylum, along with the Fox Lane Rock Ensemble. Kids' activities planned include a root beer garden and games.

Pound Ridge Partnership credits the support of nearly 100 residents for making Harvest Festival possible.
