Pound Ridge Celebrates Fall With Annual Festival

POUND RIDGE, N.Y. -- There's nothing like an old-fashioned Fall Festival complete with sweater-worthy weather, the smell of firewood off in the distance, the bite of a sweet local apple and the camaraderie of the community.

The Pound Ridge Harvest Festival, on Saturday, Oct. 18 (rain date Oct. 19), traces its roots back to the mid-19th century when local farmers would gather in town to commemorate the harvest. Today the event is still a celebration of local food and culture, albeit with world-class music, wine and beer, face-painting, a root beer garden for the kids and chef-worthy dishes for all.

Bands include the Fox Lane Rock Ensemble, eighth- graders from the middle school, along with the Brooklyn-based Afrobeat Band and the 90's mega-band The Spin Doctors.

Admission is free; special VIP tickets are available for $150 which include a meet-and-greet with the Spin Doctors, access to a preferred viewing area, priority to beer and wine lines and more.

The event runs from 2-6 p.m. at Scotts Corner. Go here for more information.
