Their duet recitals and performances with major orchestras all over the world have piled up accolades for bringing new life to the duo piano repertoire, including neglected works and world premieres.

Misha Dichter was born in Shanghai to Polish-Jewish parents who had fled Europe when World War II broke out.

He moved with his family to Los Angeles when he was two, and started studying piano three years late.

He eventually went to Juilliard, where he met his future wife, Cipa, and where he won a Silver Medal in the 1966 International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow.

He has appeared with the Berlin Philharmonic, Concertgebouw of Amsterdam, principal London orchestras, and major American orchestras.

An accomplished writer, his work has appeared in such publications as The New York Times.

Cipa Dichter was born in Brazil to Polish-Russian parents and started taking piano lessons when she was six.

She made her professional debut at 16 with the Symphony Orchestra of Brazil and moved to the United States to study at Juilliard shortly afterward.

Misha and Cipa made their first joint appearance at the Hollywood Bowl in 1972.

Since then, the pair has played together in Baltimore, Cincinnati, Los Angeles, Chicago, Seattle, and Pittsburgh. They have also performed in France, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, and Holland, among other music capitals.
