Northern Westchester Hospital Honors Martocci At Annual Gala

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. -- Shortly after moving to Northern Westchester with his family, Gino Martocci who will be honored at the hospital’s annual gala on Saturday, Nov. 1, had a pleasant surprise when he ended up in the emergency room at Northern Westchester Hospital.

“I had just moved up from New York City. Any time I had to go the emergency room there, I often had to wait eight or nine hours. I was in and out of Northern Westchester Hospital and home in about an hour,'' he said. He described his experience and the care as unlike anything he’d seen before.

The unanticipated hospital visit, which required several stitches, piqued his curiosity. Shortly afterwards, Martocci arranged for a tour of the Hospital and visited the operating rooms, and other areas. “I was impressed with their level of sophistication and advanced technology,’’ he said.

To support the hospital, Martocci, executive vice president for M&T Bank, joined the finance committee of Northern Westchester Hospital’s Board of Trustees earlier this year. And, he has helped raise over $250,000 for NWH’s annual gala.

“Because of my profession, I’m able to approach members of the business community,’’ said Martocci, who lives in Armonk. “My contacts in the real estate and business communities have been extremely generous in their support.”

Since his initial trip to the emergency room, Martocci’s appreciation for Northern Westchester Hospital has increased. “It’s a tremendous community hospital,’’ he said. “It provides world-class care, has one of the lowest infection rates of any hospital and is consistently recognized for providing high-quality care. My family and I are fortunate to have a hospital like this, just a few miles from our home.”

"As a non-profit, community support and philanthropy are vital to the hospital’s success. I’m proud to support NWH and to be recognized for my efforts is a wonderful feeling,’’ Martocci added.

Funds raised for this year’s benefit will support the building of a new and technologically advanced operating suite at NWH providing the highest quality healthcare to the community.

The gala begins at 6:30 p.m. at Old Salem Farm in North Salem. The theme of this year's gala is "Autumn in Arcadia." Tickets for individuals or tables are still available and can be purchased online.
