Previous themes have included Monsters in the Movies, the Walking Dead and Harry Potter. Remaining dates for this year's display are Oct. 19, 20, 26 and 27.

“It’s never the same theme twice,” Lasdon Park Manager Ted Kozlowski said.

It also includes “scary rooms,” a haystack maze and other unique Halloween decorations available for purchase. All proceeds go to the Glass House Conservatory project, which was the initial inspiration for the tradition, Kozlowski said.

“We quickly realized trains and Halloween are quite the kid magnets,” he said. “And since there were no other train shows in the county, it was kind of the perfect storm.”

The show brings in $15,000 to $20,000 every year, Kozlowski said. So far, the Glass House Conservatory project has raised more than $650,000 of the needed $2 million.

“We truly appreciate anyone who’s helping us get to that goal,” Kozlowski said.

Lasdon Park will unveil its first-ever Christmas Train Show this year, with Polar Express as the theme. For more information about the park, its events and how to contribute to the Glass House Conservatory project, visit www.lasdonpark.org.
