KATONAH, N.Y. -- Turning Black Friday Yellow is among the many events planned for Little Joe's Coffee and Books in Katonah.
On Black Friday, Nov. 28, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., instead of the mad rush of a sale, Little Joe's will offer a volunteer activity, “Turn Black Friday YELLOW.”
For a $5 donation, families can make stockings and cards which will be stuffed with candy and distributed through the Family Services of Westchester’s Veterans Outreach Program. It provides support services to soldiers, veterans and their families around Westchester County. On Thursday, Dec. 4, Little Joe’s will host a blow-out one-year Anniversary Party and Holiday Shopping Night from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Folks can drop in, get a warm drink, try some great appetizers from the soon-to-open Katonah Reading Room kitchen and shop while visiting and enjoying the company of old and new friends in the community. “We want to have fun at the holidays and to thank our amazing customers for the best year. Join us for a fun night out, a visit with friends, and maybe get some help with your shopping list while you’re at it,” said co-owner Peter Menzies. At 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 18, local legend Miss Kathy will display her storytelling skills with a winter story time and craft for all ages. Stories of snowmen, snow days and winter fun will be featured and they will make snowmen crafts. On Friday, Dec. 12, Friday, Dec. 19 and Tuesday, Dec. 23, Little Joe’s will offer special holiday hours until 7 p.m., allowing people to sneak in those extra hours after work, after spouses are home to watch the kids or after a hectic day to just to stop in for more convenient shopping hours.
Little Joe’s Coffee & Books is at 25 Katonah Ave. in Katonah.
