Katonah Museum Of Art Presents SuperStructure Sunday With Activities

KATONAH, N.Y. -- Katonah Museum of Art's SuperStructure Sunday will celebrate a day of architectural activities and two new exhibitions, "Chris Larson: The Katonah Relocation Project" and "A Home for Art: Edward Larrabee Barnes and the KMA," on Sunday, May 3 from noon to 5 p.m.

The following activities are planned:

Build-a-Village Design Challenge: Learn about architecture and planning as participants design and build a village in the museum's sculpture garden with your family, friends and educators from Arch for Kids at 12:30 p.m. 

Treehouse Workshop: Investigate the world of architecture in the trees and create your own arboreal dream house. Ages 6 and up. $10 members, $15 non-members. Limited space: advance registration recommended. The program will be held at 3:30 p.m. 

Stories of Home with Akiko Busch, Dierdre Courtney: Batson and Pamela Hart Join a poet, a writer, and a historian for a reading and conversation about home and relocation at 3:30 p.m. Learn about the oral history project at the museum; sign up to record your own memories of home in the Oral History Recording Booth.

Other opportunities include the following:

  • Get up close and personal, with real-life construction trucks
  • Architecture-inspired art activities for everyone
  • Record memories and thoughts of home in the museum's Oral History Booth
  • Delicious soups and sandwiches available for sale from Ladle of Love and gourmet ice cream from Penny Lick Ice Cream Company
